These are some words I have come across from reading that I did  not understand from all my classes.
inanity (n)- lack of sense, silliness
Panoptic (adj)- permitting the view of all parts or elements, inclusive
reptile (n)- despicable person, cheater, con artist
solemn (adj)- speech, tone, or mood
veranda (n)- porch
indigenous (adj)- innate, inborn, natural
ameliorate (v)- improve, make better
